What drives your life? Why do you do the work that you do? I found an interesting source that states that we work out of one of three motivations: Purpose, passion or profit.
Here is a quiz you can take to discover your motivation:

I am driven by passion and purpose. They give me a descirption of passion but I believe that this has to be mixed with purpose to give a good perspective of who I am.

The Lord's Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer: An Adaptation
Our God who is in heaven
and in all of us here on earth;
the hungry, the oppressed, the excluded.
Holy is your name.
May your reign come and your
will be done;
in our choice to struggle with the complexities
of this world and to confront greed and
the desire for power in ourselves,
in our nation and in the global community.
Give us this day our daily bread;
bread that we are called to share,
bread that you have given us abundantly
and that we must distribute fairly,
ensuring security for all.
Forgive us our trespasses;
times we have turned away from
the struggles of other people and countries,
times we have thought only of our own security.
Lead us not into temptation;
the temptation to close our minds, ears, and eyes
to the unfair global systems that create
larger and larger gaps between
the rich and the poor; the temptation to think
it is too difficult to bring about more just alternatives.
Deliver us from evil;
the evil of a world where violence happens
in your name, where wealth for a few
is more important than economic rights for all,
where gates and barriers between people
are so hard to bring down.
May your reign come, for yours is the kingdom,
the power and the glory forever and ever.
Amen!

Life
I was reading Jurassic Park and one line struck me. It stated that the large things looks like the small things. For example: every day you have a list of things that you want to do but always get side tracked and never accomplish them. most likely at the end of your life you will realize that you were always side tracked and never got done what you set out to do.
This got me thinking about how my days go. I realized that one of the mottos that I seem to live by is "why do today what can be done tomorrow." This is not a really good theme for life because it means that there are a lot of things in my life that are not done. I seem to always be putting things off to tomorrow only to suddenly realize that I am out of time.

It is official I have decided to blog. The main reason is so that I have a place to journal. I have read about so many great spiritual leaders who say that journalling is one of the best disciplines they have ever done. So this seems like a good way to try and journal. Hopefully I can be disciplined enough to do it.
